The BBC London Television Station at Alexandra Palace

'Television and Short-wave' magazine, November 1935

This famous cutaway image of Alexandra Palace was produced to show an eager public how construction of the London Television Station would look when completed. However, when it was published in November 1935, construction had only recently begun, and therefore the magazine artist could only work from the original concept drawings. By the time the television complex was completed, eleven months later, the layout and detail had changed dramatically. These changes are much better represented in the second cutaway image from 'Short Wave World' of October 1936.

PLEASE WAIT WHILE THE IMAGE LOADS - THIS IS A LARGE FILE FOR DETAIL
